Karen Wessels comes from a strong sales background and showed the first signs of entrepreneurship after she realised her passion for sales. She is the co-founder and CEO of VA Connect, Africa’s largest virtual assistant agency; and the co-founder and CEO of SnappSales, an innovative lead generation company. Karen is involved in multiple smaller businesses with her “interest-based coaching” methodology where she also personally acts as an angel investor and mentor. Before establishing her companies, she spent over 10 years in different sales, marketing & admin support roles. She loves to share her passion for sales, marketing and remote working and how to apply these skills to run and grow successful international businesses.
The fourth industrial revolution is underway and it will have an impact on the jobs that we do, and the skills that we need to perform them. Who we work with, where we work, the values and structure of the organisations we work in and the way in which we get our work done are all changing, and it is essential that we equip ourselves to successfully adapt to these changes. Karen Wessels is a Virtual Assistant Agency owner and thoroughly understands the changing role of the 21st Century Administrative Assistant. The stats say that by 2020, more than 50% of the workforce will be working remotely and this will have a major impact on the role of the Administrative Assistant.
